The Artist/Artisan-in-Residence Program at Cordia at Grand Traverse Commons seeks applications from Michigan-based artists to begin working with Cordia Club Members beginning this fall 2015. A studio will be made available to two (2) artists / artisans for an initial term of twelve months with the strong possibility of renewal for additional time.
The key goal of the program is to spark and help develop our Members’ creativity. Skill building could be an outcome, but more importantly, our objective is to inspire people to explore new creative outlets as they build intentional, meaningful lives at Cordia. The Artists/Artisans play a major role through mentoring and teaching groups and individuals.
Studio space is provided at no charge to the Artists/Artisans with the expectation that, in exchange, interaction with Cordia club members will be a required component and formal classes in their art form will be offered to the members of the Club and to members of the greater Traverse City community within the Club setting.
Each studio is approximately 10.5’ x 8.5’ (89.5 sq. ft.); woodworkers will also have access to the well-equipped woodworking studio. Housing is not provided as part of the Artist/Artisan-in-Residence program.
