An Introduction to the Cordia Mission: Visit Club Level and Select Private Residences

Many visitors are surprised to learn that Cordia Club Members span four decades, that beautiful Common areas account for roughly one-quarter of the 110,000 sq. ft. community, and that some Club Members at Cordia are still working professionals. They are interested in learning just how the Cordia differs from other senior residences in Traverse City–and, in fact, that there are few like it in the country. This session provides an easy way of answering many questions about just what Cordia is all about as you stroll the hallways, explore Club Ameniities, and tour select priivate residences.

This course will look at what is essential for creating a greater sense of authenticity, adventure, belonging, control and wonder. In fact a number of popular television shows, including today’s highest rated show, “The Big Bang Theory” and a new crime show, “Scorpion” are built around exposing the difference between IQ and EQ. Gardening to Eat Well

 It is almost time to plant the garden.  This season make choices to plant healthy vegetables and herbs that will have you eating well and feeling even better.  We will discuss how to get the most out of your garden – even if your garden plot is quite small.

On the face of it Ravel’s Bolero is not a great composition. Its repetitive melody heard over and over is pleasant but no masterpiece.  And, yet, Bolero is a mega hit. Come explore what it is about this hypnotic work that captivates the listener and leaves us longing for more.  


Introduction to Pastels

Explore pastels!   You will be introduced to soft pastels and learn how to handle the medium.  During this session we will learn how to compose a still life painting and execute it in dry medium.   We will practice techniques of underpainting, color blending, color wheel and composition.  Basic drawing skills a plus, but all beginners welcome.
