1. The Village at Grand Traverse Commons; Cordia’s canvas
Cordia is integrated into the Grand Traverse Commons, a sprawling, diverse, multi-generational village home to boutique shops, fine dining, miles of hiking and biking trails, and a weekly farmer’s market. All of this is just steps away from Downtown Traverse City and the Grand Traverse Bay. Cordia’s opening in November marks the historic completion of Building 50, a 130 year old castle that is the gem of the entire village community.
2. For anyone 55+
Whether you’re an active, independent senior or require a little help with activities of daily living, Cordia is designed to support your personal agenda. Don’t believe us? Look at our charter member list. Our Club Members span nearly 4 decades, as many states, and come from all walks of life. By considering a place like Cordia, you’re doing anything but throwing in the towel…you’re continuing your pursuit of happiness and meaning.
3. One monthly fee...all inclusive
Membership at Cordia operates on a monthly basis. For a single rate starting at $3200, most of the costs of daily life are covered. To start, this fee includes your private residence and all utilities therein–telephone (including world-wide long distance), wireless internet service throughout your residence and Club, cable TV, taxes, electric, gas, water, and sewage. It also covers 1 meal per day – though there is a three meal plan available too - weekly housekeeping, access to a litany of the club amenities, full concierge services, and much, much more. If you are curious about pricing and packages at Cordia, the best way to get answers is here.
4. The food…it’s really, really good
Senior communities don’t exactly have a sterling reputation when it comes to food. Cordia at Grand Traverse Commons is out to change that perception. Our Executive Chef Michael Bauer, formerly of the Boathouse Grill, is regionally respected in the foodie scene. He has designed a custom menu for seniors focused on locally sourced ingredients.
5. Private residences at Cordia
Ranging from studios to 2 bedrooms, all residences at Cordia include a full kitchen and bath. And they’re anything but cookie-cutter. Of the 110, 92 are wholly unduplicated. Before opening a door, one of the few things you can expect is high quality, thoughtfully designed finishes. Touches like granite countertops, cherry cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, custom ceramic tile showers, and a brand new stacked washer dryer. These touches compliment the exposed brick walls and vaulted ceilings to create a stunning aesthetic.
6. Amenities, amenities, amenities
Club members at Cordia aren’t burdened with the tedious tasks of daily life. That means more time for your passions and more energy to pursue them. Here’s a quick list of the amenities at Cordia…good luck deciding how to spend your time! Aromatherapy baths, artisan center and studios, billiards, formal dining room, informal pub, coffee bar, covered porches, fireplace lounge, fitness center, library and computer center, salon and spa, television lounge, theater, wood working shop, concierge and errand service, dry cleaning services, housekeeping, “Company’s Coming” Extra Cleaning, ironing, wellness director consultations, medication management, blood pressure checks, blood sugar monitoring, weight monitoring, hairstyling, shampoo and sets, barber service, manicures, pedicures, massages...
7. Personal care
The Club provides two residential levels, Club Living and Club Living Plus. Both provide all the elements described above, but Club Living Plus adds a level of support for independence that will allow our Club members to continue to live at the Club even as their needs for additional services increase. Overseen by the Director of Club Wellness, an RN with extensive experience in geriatric medicine, the services provided range from simple assistance with bathing and grooming to more substantial support through the aging process. The goal is to maintain independence and allow every resident to continue to lead a meaningful life.
