Cordia is tapping into the creative minds of our Membership with our latest project, a touring puppet theater. Later this year, Cordia Members will take this puppet show on the road with plans to perform it for multi-age audiences in the area. Cordia’s puppet show project has a number of Cordia’s Members collaborating their talents with one another and with professional puppeteer Alexandra Herryman.
So far our Members have:
- Adapted a script, based on a children’s book, I Left My Shoe at the Zoo, written by Cordia Member, Ruth Zinn
- Designed and built the puppet theater
- Written lyrics and adapted music
- Designed and fabricated all original puppets
Work continues on the following:
- Scenery painting
- Prop design and creation
- Voice work and casting for puppets
- Musical accompaniment and sound effects
The performance schedule is being determined – stay tuned as this project continues to take form!
